bullet  Noted events in their marriage were:

1. Note: before 1936. Lucille attended a party at a friend's house. There she met Ray. Rumor has it that it was love at first sight. He would walk the many miles home after their dates to save money. He always found excuses to visit, even when not invited. Lucille's parent liked Ray and Lu felt a little sorry for him when she saw where he lived.

When they met Lu was seriously considering joining a convent. After months of courtship, she oscillated between marriage and the nunnery. When told, Ray tenderly pronounced he did not want to live without Lu, but that he would walk her to the convent door if need be. Lu asked for a night to think and Ray sat by the telephone the entire night. By morning, they were engaged.

2. Wedding, 4/15/1936. Wedding was held at St. Viator's Church, officiated by Father Wenthe. The reception was held at the Belmont Hotel. Honeymoon was at Mammouth Cave in Kentucky
